Divorce

In 2010 Kristen became a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst in order to help others navigate through the financials issues of divorce. Combined with her knowledge as a CPA, Kristen is able to help clients understand the tax and financial implications of equitable distribution, alimony, child support, filing status, dependency exemptions, sale of marital residence and a myriad of other tax issues that may arise during the divorce process.

Kristen works with attorneys, individuals and couples to help navigate through these issues. Consulting with an experienced and knowledgeable CPA before making any final decisions regarding the settlement of marital finances can help ensure an equitable outcome for both parties. Additionally, the Internal Revenue Service has special rules for divorced or separated individuals and it is important to know how those will affect each party before the filing of individual tax returns.

Kristen has completed the IACP’s Full Team Interdisciplinary Collaborative Divorce Training although she does not limit her work to collaborative cases and also provides litigation support services.
